Objective: The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a statutory public entity, an oversight body of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Act, No. 67 of 2008. The entity is charged with developing, fostering and maintaining an integrated and transparent national framework for the recognition of learning achievements, ensuring that:

• South African qualifications meet appropriate criteria and are internationally comparable.

SAQA seeks to appoint an Administrator: Finance to provide administrative support within the Finance sub-unit. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this position will render support related to finance operations, which include but not limited to asset management, administration, and other financial processes.
Requirements are:

Minimum Qualifications

  • An appropriate, recognised qualification at NQF Level 5.
  • A relevant qualification at NQF level 6 will be an advantage.

Minimum Experience

  • One-year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in SAGE 300 Accpac will be an advantage.

Key performance areas:

Summary of duties

  • Handling and accounting for physical transfer/movement of assets between units or offices.
  • Conducting monthly asset verifications and reconciliations.
  • Conducting assessments and reporting unverified, damaged or missing assets.
  • Barcoding new assets and updating the asset register.
  • Assisting with asset management processes as required.
  • Recording new locations and employee data on Norming/Accpac.
  • Assisting with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Cashbook functions when required.
  • Assisting with internal and external audit queries or requests for information.
  • Assisting with following up on invoices received.
  • Assisting with compiling and checking accuracy of demand letters.
  • Serving as the point of contact for all administrative matters relating to Finance and liaising with
    all other unit administrators.
  • Recording minutes and preparing agendas for unit meetings.
