Objective: The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a statutory public entity that operates under the NQF Act, No. 67 of 2008. SAQA seeks to appoint a Specialist: Resource and Information Centre. The successful candidate will assist the NQF Operations division by providing operational support for the effective functioning of the SAQA Resource and Information Centre. (Applicants are required to attach their CV and Application Letter).
Requirements are:
  • The most eligible candidate must hold an appropriate and recognised qualification at NQF level 6 in Library Management or equivalent.
  • An NQF Level 7 qualification on the 10 Level NQF will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing an academic library and information is required.
  • More than two years of appropriate library management experience will be an added advantage.
  • The incumbent must have a good knowledge of SAQA policies and procedures, NQF, and related legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, customer orientation, and attention to detail should be amongst the strengths of those aspiring for this appointment.
Key performance areas:
  • Maintain an effective running of SAQA’s Resource and Information Centre.
  • Maintain an effective record keeping.
  • Sustainability of the Library Management Information System.
  • Evaluation of new and existing information resources.
  • Maintain and improve the quality and standards of information services provided to end users.
  • Effective administration of material usage and applications.
  • Provide SAQA staff, stakeholders and the public with information and search facilities.
  • Establish and manage links with other libraries, research, and information providers.
  • Administer Resource and Information Centre stock.
  • Assist with editing new materials on the Library Management System.
  • Manage Resource and Information Centre stock.

SAQA will verify credit and criminal records as well as qualifications.
